This Stately Plantation is conveniently located within Gallatin, Tennessee on nearly 20 acres (privately gated and fenced) and serves for multiple event venues (weddings, reunions, business meetings, birthdays, showers, holiday parties, music events, etc). It was built during the period of 1790 to 1794 by Major David Wilson, a Revolutionary Officer and a Surveyor by trade. Wilson, a native of Pennsylvania, came to Sumner County while it was yet a part of North Carolina. As payment to settle this territory, Wilson was issued nearly 40,000 acres in Sumner County, Tennessee and Wilson County, Tennessee (named in his honor). It was at this location in Gallatin that he built his southern mansion. Four layers of brick encase the original two-story section of the house, but in the attic of the original two-story section, there is evidence of an age and time never to return as buffalo hair can be seen sprouting from the mortar. He worked in journalism for over two decades, having had the privilege of covering Super Bowl XXIV, several Presidents, basketball championships, UT's national football championship and the Olympics in Sydney, Australia in 2000.

Made entirely of cedar wood, the barn is fashioned after a classic, old-style Southern post barn. Inside the barn features a 36 ft. tall ceiling, from which are hung three stunning iron and crystal chandeliers. The west side of the barn has six windows while the east hosts three large sliding doors that allow your guests to flow easily between the barn and the outdoor grassy area, perfect for both a ceremony and cocktail party. There's a spacious kitchen with separate rear entry for vendors. Inside you'll also find beautiful restrooms with copper sinks, granite countertops, and cedar wood stalls. Pristinely finished from top to bottom, the cedar wood barn is the perfect blank slate for you to create your ideal event. The Venue at Waddell Place is a rustic yet elegant wedding and event venue conveniently located in McKenzie Tennessee, the tripoint of Carroll , Henry, and Weakley counties. The nearly 7,000 square-foot barn is the ideal setting for weddings and/or receptions, corporate events, parties, proms, family reunions, photography sessions, and much more! At Waddell place, owners Ronnie and Donna Waddell have made every effort to include all the amenities that will be important to you and your guests on your special day.
